Hawaii Island police are searching for a 22-year-old man wanted on a $20,000 bench warrant for violating probation.

Hawaii Island police are searching for a 22-year-old man wanted on a $20,000 bench warrant for violating probation.

Matthew Alani of Hookena is also wanted for questioning in connection with an abuse case, according to the Hawaii Police Department.

Alani is described as 5-foot-7, weighing 150 pounds, and having black hair, brown eyes and possibly a goatee. He has numerous tattoos, including one with the word “Hookena” across his chest, police said.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call the Police Department’s nonemergency line at 935-3311. Those who prefer to remain anonymous may call the islandwide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
