Two women were stabbed and a man arrested following an argument that escalated into an assault Sunday night in Waikoloa.
According to the Hawaii Police Department, Aaron Nakamoto, 34, was arrested at his Waikoloa home after the incident, in which a 22-year-old woman suffered a wound on her left arm and one on her chest and was treated and released for her injuries. Another 22-year-old woman was cut on her face, throat and neck, and spent a night in the hospital receiving treatment for her injuries.
Nakamato was also had facial injuries and a cut on his leg, according to police. Following treatment at North Hawaii Community Hospital, he was arrested on a first-degree assault charge and held while police continued their investigation.
Witnesses told police they saw a man, later identified as Nakamoto, assaulting two women in the Waikoloa Highlands Center parking lot. Witnesses said Nakamoto had a knife during the alleged assault.
Police have also initiated an assault investigation in connection with Nakamoto’s injuries.
