Until combat veterans are killed, government will not act
Here is my opinion when asked as an Afghanistan combat veteran: What do you think about the political-correctness for the ISIS threat against you and your family? There seems to be two kinds of reactions from people. Either they are repulsed and horrified at the news and will ignore it and shame those people for promoting dangerous propaganda, or there are people who bring this news to the attention of friends and family to convey a serious warning.
I see the efficacy of terrorism and a chance for jihadists to make a name for themselves. Many people are ignoring a very real and dangerous situation, while hoping that the ISIS threat will go away. Combat veterans will fight, but they are not tapping into their fear, anger and paranoia just yet.
I think when there are more news reports of beheaded combat veterans and their family members, and the government cannot protect their war veterans from an uncontrollable wave of targeted killings, then I can almost guarantee that this event will remove our self-control.
There has to be a major event to reactivate a vast amount of paranoid and angered combat veterans to go out, do the job themselves, and maybe die in the process. This time, no rules of engagement will hinder a repressed sadistic-creativity to instill a large amount of fear into the hearts and minds of our common enemy who infiltrated our homeland in the effort to kill our people.
Until those reports about an uncontrollable wave of targeted killings of combat veterans and their family members, the ISIS threat level is low for certain demographical areas, and it looks like the government has the ISIS threat under control. Keep up the good work government, and thank you for keeping your war veterans safe.
