The U.S. Coast Guard and Hawaii Fire Department are searching for a 65-year-old man reported missing Wednesday near Pohoiki Bay.

The U.S. Coast Guard and Hawaii Fire Department are searching for a 65-year-old man reported missing Wednesday near Pohoiki Bay.

The missing man has been identified as Charles Rosecranes, according to the Coast Guard.

Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Honolulu received a report from Hawaii Fire Department regarding a missing 65-year-old man who was last seen approximately 1 a.m. Wednesday. He reportedly fell overboard from a 15-foot outboard skiff he and his friend had been operating.

An HC-130 Hercules airplane crew and an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point launched to search along with the crew of the 110-foot Coast Guard Cutter Kiska, homeported in Hilo, and crews from the Hawaii Fire Department.

Rosecranes is 5 feet 10 inches tall and 160 lbs., reported to be wearing a blue and white pin-striped shirt, rain coat, pants and rubber boots.
