Route 11, between mile markers 58 and 59, in Ka’u district reopened after being closed by Sunday’s flooding, according to the Hawaii Police Department.
Heavy rains moving through the area created flooding and caused the road closure, which went into effect around 9:12 p.m. Sunday. Route 11, also known as the Hawaii Belt Road, was open to all traffic just before 6 a.m. today.
