Mauna Kea Beach Hotel has announced the opening of Tiffany’s Art Agency, a new showroom displaying a curated collection of exquisite art including woodwork, paintings, sculptures, and pastel pieces from more than a dozen of Hawaii’s talented artists.
“As a result of Laurance S. Rockefeller’s passion for eclectic art, the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel enjoys an extensive museum-quality collection and Tiffany’s Art Agency is a wonderful addition to that legacy,” said Phyllis Branco, hotel manager. “Not only does the showroom provide a glimpse into the creative works of emerging local artists, but it offers guests unique opportunities to experience the art in fun and interactive ways.”
In addition to workshops, events, concierge art services and private studio tours, Tiffany’s Art Agency also features twice-a-week live oil paintings by Hawaii Island artist Mary Spears.
“We are excited to bring together so many island artists and display their works to hotel guests,” said Tiffany DeEtte Shafto, owner of Tiffany’s Art Agency. “I strongly feel that it is important to connect artists and collectors through meaningful experiences, and the new showroom will achieve that.”
The showroom is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
After founding the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel nearly 50 years ago, Laurance S. Rockefeller installed a 1,600-piece Pacific and Asian art collection including a 17th century pink granite Buddha from India. Guests can learn more about the unique collection during the hotel’s weekly art tours held at 10 a.m. every Saturday.
