HONOLULU — A Honolulu woman is pleading guilty to vandalizing Iolani Palace after she kicked the front door of the historic building earlier this year.
State Attorney General David Louie said Tuesday Drew Paahau pleaded guilty to criminal property damage in the first degree and burglary in the second degree.
The 22-year-old faces up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine for the first charge. She could go to prison for up to five years and be fined as much as $10,000 for the second charge.
Her sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 14.
Louie says Paahau significantly damaged an antique etched glass panel when she kicked a palace front door in February.
The palace served as a home to the Hawaiian monarchy.
