HONOLULU — Hawaii education officials say the vast majority of public school teachers rate as effective or better under a new evaluation system.
The Hawaii Department of Education said Tuesday that 16 percent of more than 11,000 teachers rated as highly effective. Nearly 82 percent rated as effective.
Another 2.1 percent of teachers were rated as marginal while 0.2 percent were rated as unsatisfactory.
The ratings were for the 2013-2014 school year.
