Julio is now a post-tropical cyclone Friday morning far north of the Hawaiian Islands, Central Pacific Hurricane Center forecasters said Thursday morning.
Julio, as of 5 a.m. Friday, was packing maximum sustained winds of 35 mph, with higher gusts, and traveling north at 2 mph, the Honolulu-based forecasters said. The storm was located about 880 miles north of Kailua-Kona.
Forecasters expect the storm to continue weakening during the next 48 hours.
