Jana Kiyo Lily Masunaga, a seventh-grader at Konawaena Middle School, was selected by the Kona Fukuoka Kenjin Kai to participate in an exchange program this month in Japan with 19 other students from the United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Bolivia, Paraguay, Argentina, Columbia and Peru.

Jana Kiyo Lily Masunaga, a seventh-grader at Konawaena Middle School, was selected by the Kona Fukuoka Kenjin Kai to participate in an exchange program this month in Japan with 19 other students from the United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Bolivia, Paraguay, Argentina, Columbia and Peru.

Her home-stay family, Hidemi and Megumi Watanabe, along with former Kona resident Mieko Shindo, participated in the Kindergarten Camp.

Japan Consul General Shigeeda of Honolulu assisted with arranging Masunaga’s host family in Ogori City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan.
