Hurricane Iselle has formed in the Eastern Pacific. The system, packing 75 mile per hour sustained winds, is moving to the west-northwest at 12 miles per hour.
Located 1,270 miles west-southwest of the southern tip of Baja California, Iselle has tropical storm force winds extending outward from the center up to 105 miles. National Weather Service forecasters expect the hurricane to strengthen over the next couple of days as it tracks west, but after that time the system should encounter cooler sea surface temperatures and drier, more stable conditions. Iselle should peak with winds to 85 miles per hour over the next day or two before gradually weakening, according to NWS projections.
