Kealakehe High School enrolled students may pay fees and pick up a copy of their class schedule in the school’s library from 7 to 10 a.m. Tuesday or from 3 to 7:30 p.m. July 23. Advance schedules were issued to currently enrolled students so the available schedule will be a copy reflecting no changes. For newly enrolled students who completed a course request form when they registered, a schedule will be available to pick up. A counselor may be available but only to address general questions — not to make schedule changes. If there’s a question as to whether the student is enrolled, call 327-4300, ext. 2448.

Students must be enrolled for fees to be collected. If the student is not enrolled, a parent must first enroll a student with the registrar in the school’s Student Services Office from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. any day Monday through Friday. For information on enrollment requirements, visit doe.k12.hi.us/register. Students cannot attend school or participate in any scheduled activity without TB clearance; however, call the school for the status update on TB requirement. Students who do not live in the Kealakehe High district will have to process a “Geographic Exception” form which can be found at ge.k12.hi.us.

Required fees include: class dues, $10, and student association dues, $10. Optional fees include: bus; full color yearbook, which costs $60 including color upgrade, tax, shipping and handling; parking permit per vehicle, $10; and athletic card, $20. The athletic card gets a student into all home athletic games for free; for “away” athletic games, students pay $1 with the card.

Students must deposit money in their lunch accounts ahead of time. No cash is accepted to purchase meals in the school cafeteria. Separate checks made payable to Kealakehe High are required for fees, lunch and bus. Credit or debit cards will be accepted with a convenience fee charged by the vendor for each transaction. Choosing to pay by credit or debit card requires the parent or guardian to set up an account with ezschoolpay.com, which can be done at any time. The parent or guardian then initiates the transaction — not the school.

Bus applications will be available and fees can be paid with a separate check, cash, credit or debit card. Bus applications may be downloaded at iportal.k12.hi.us/SBT/downloadapp.aspx.

Free and reduced lunch applications can be downloaded or submitted online at ezmealapp.com.

Schedule changes will be addressed in the following priority: newly enrolled students, students needing to adjust schedule because of passing summer school courses, students without full schedules, and other exceptional situations on a case by case basis. No student initiated requests for switching of classes will be allowed; teacher or counselor initiated changes only will be considered and based on class space availability. Schedule changes by appointment only start Aug. 4.

Call the counselor’s clerk at 327-4300, ext. 2463.

All students are encouraged to come pay fees, get their schedules and get forms for various activities, including sports.

Freshmen report to school from 8:13 a.m. to 3:13 p.m. Aug. 4. All students report from 8:13 a.m. to 3:13 p.m. Aug. 5.

A new parent/student orientation will begin at 5:30 p.m. July 23 in the school cafeteria. Parents can pay fees before or after the orientation until 7:30 p.m.
