Ronald Auld
Ronald Kauwila Auld, Sr., 78, of Hilo died July 4, 2014, at the Hospice of Hilo’s Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Kalihi, Oahu, he was a retired Army sergeant first class, noncommissioned officer club manager in Alaska and Waianae, was a tugboat cook for C. Brewer, retired as an adult corrections officer for the state Department of Corrections and member of the Kaumana Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. July 14 at the Hilo Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for an 11 a.m. service followed by burial at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Family requests casual attire be worn.
He is survived by wife, Ayako Auld of Hilo; sons, Ronald (Kay) Auld Jr. of Bothel, Wash., William (Arden) Auld of Waimanalo, Oahu, Andrew (Pat) Auld of Kaneohe, Oahu, Lyle (Nena) Auld of Panaewa; daughters, Kehaulani (Bob) Cancialosi of Chicago, Hiilani (Thomas) Lapera of Ka‘u, Lei (Angitau) Faanunu of Hilo; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Aquilino Santos
Aquilino “Lino” Santos, 90, of Papaikou died June 24, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born May 27, 1924, in Honolulu, he was a World War II Army veteran and member of the Silverton Kumiai, Papaikou Senior Citizen Club, Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou.
Friends may call at 9:30 July 15 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou for a 10:30 a.m. service. Burial will be at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.
He is survived by sons, Edward (Patricia) Santos of Kailua, Oahu, Danny Santos of Las Vegas; two grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Abel Kazuo Meguro, 54, of Hilo died July 8, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a building maintenance worker at the University of Hawaii at Hilo and member of New Hope Christian Fellowship Hilo.

Motoe Tada, 93, of Hilo died July 5, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born July 31, 1920, in Wainaku, she was retired from Hawaiian Linen Supply and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin Kyodan, choir and Buddhist Womens Association, Hiroshima Kenjinkai, Japanese Community Association, Iwalani Kumiai and RSVP.
Friends may call at 2 p.m. July 17 at Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, 398 Kilauea Ave., for a 4 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.
She is survived by sons, Norman (Vicky) Tada of South Carolina, Lloyd Tada of Hilo; five grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Manuel Milliora
Manuel “Manno” Palani Milliora, 62, of Makaha, Oahu, died June 8, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Aug. 23, 1951, in Nanakuli, Oahu, he was a heavy equipment operator for Operating Engineers, Local Union No. 3.
Friends may call at noon July 19 at Makaha Surfing Beach on Oahu for a service. A luncheon will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Aunty Ruth’s residence on Makaha Valley Road in Makaha.

Caroline Kinihaa Kuehu Pereira, 94, of Kailua-Kona died June 17, 2014, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born June 26, 1919, in Puuanahulu, she was a housewife and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Friends may call at 8 a.m. July 19 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, First Ward in Kailua-Kona for an 11 a.m. service. Burial follows at Puolili Cemetery in Puuanahulu. Jason Opiopio
Jason “Kaleo” Opiopio, 41, of Kailua-Kona died June 30, 2014. Born Sept. 7, 1972, in Honolulu, he was formerly the owner of Pit Stop Auto Shop.
A service will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 20 on the lawn of Queen Liliuokalani Children’s Center, 74-5490 Makala Blvd. in Kailua-Kona.
He is survived by wife, Wendy (Campbell) Opiopio of Kailua-Kona; children, Chazelle, Haley and Dustin Opiopio, all of Kailua-Kona; mother, Evelyn Opiopio of Kailua-Kona; stepmother, Christine Opiopio of Honolulu; sisters, Ronda (Jordan) Armstrong and Hulali Opiopio, both of Honolulu, Candice Gomes of Puna; grandmother, Ruth Vieau of Lahaina, Maui; grandfather, Gregory Opiopio of Honolulu; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Herbert Johnson
Herbert Wayne Johnson, 56, of Captain Cook and Newport Beach, Calif., died June 8, 2014, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Oct. 25, 1957, in Olympia, Wash., he was a salesman and marketer for Hilton Grand Vacations, a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker, a sailor and was on the escort boat for the Makalii.
Private services were held.
He is survived by wife, Cynthia Northrup of Captain Cook; daughter, Carole Johnson of Auburn, Wash.; mother, Carol Gibson of Gig Harbor, Wash.; sisters, Debbie Stevens, Vickie Petersen and Connie Johnson, all of Gig Harbor, Wash.; numerous nieces and nephews.

Shiro Kurokawa
Shiro Kurokawa, 92, of Papaikou died June 26, 2014, at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Papaikou, he was a retired shift supervisor for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co. and member of Hilo Coast United Church of Christ.

He is survived by sons, Curtis (Carla) Kurokawa and John (Gayla) Kurokawa, both of Hilo, Mark Kurokawa of California; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Seet Lau
Seet Beak Lau, 90, of Hilo died July 3, 2014, in Hilo. Born Nov. 18, 1923, in Hilo, she was a retired military dependent school teacher and volunteer at Lyman Museum.

Sherlynn Elaine Keppler, 65, of Hilo died July 1, 2014, at home. Born in 1949 in Scottsbluff, Neb., was a retired hairstylist and saleswoman.
