Kona Stories July book clubs planned
The Kona Stories fiction book club meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to discuss “The Dinner” by Herman Koch.
The fiction book club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month, and the nonfiction group meets at 6 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday at Kona Stories in Keauhou Shopping Center. No membership or fees are associated with these groups and monthly attendance is not required. Bring a pupu or beverage to share.

Home tour to raise funds for The Yurt Project
The public is invited to tour three luxury Kona residences and eat a progressive four-course Hawaiian brunch during “The Yurt Project Home &Garden Tour.”
The tour is offered through Home Tours Hawaii and will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday and again Aug. 12, Sept. 17 and Oct. 15. The cost is $149 per person with 50 percent donated to Habitat For Humanity West Hawaii to bring affordable yurt living to partner families. Those interested in applying for a Yurt Project yurt can contact Habitat for Humanity West Hawaii at 331-8010.

Pasion graduates from basic traininng
Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Ana Marissa I. Pasion graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Pasion is the daughter of Corazon and Eduardo Pasion of Kapolei, Oahu.
She is a 2009 graduate of Keaau High School. She earned an associate degree in 2012 from Kapiolani Community College, Honolulu.
