Motorists should expect delays this week while tree trimming and other work continues on Palani Road in Kailua-Kona, according to the Hawaii County Department of Public Works.

Crews will be working from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday between Henry Street and the Palani Road junction area, according to the department. Crews will not work on Friday in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

On Monday, the crews will be finishing trimming trees up to the junction, according to the department. The crews were then expected to move down to the passing lanes located makai of Queen Liliuokalani Village and Konalani Street to perform shoulder work.

The department advises motorists to use an alternate route during the work.
