Kona Elks Lodge holds open house
Kona Elks Lodge 2616 will hold an open house from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday at 74-5596 Pawai Place, one block north of Kona Brewing Co.
The public is invited and members are encouraged to bring candidates to join this community involved organization. Free vegetable pupu will be offered and video games will be played. At 6 p.m., chicken and eggplant parmigiana will be served for $15. Reservations are needed for dinner and may be made by calling 329-2616.
Masons dinner meeting is Wednesday
Kona Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons will meet Wednesday at the Kona Masonic Center, 73-5577 Kauhola St., No. 7 in Kailua-Kona. Dinner is served at 6 p.m., followed by a meeting at 7 p.m., then dessert.

Ramos to discuss D-Day landing
Ray Ramos, retired Army colonel, will speak to the Rotary Club of Kona Sunrise Wednesday. Ramos will relate his experience of “Operation Neptune” and his memories of June 6, 1944.
Rotary Club of Kona Sunrise holds weekly breakfast meetings from 6:45 to 7:45 a.m. Wednesdays upstairs at Humpy’s Restaurant in Coconut Grove Marketplace. Breakfast is $11 per person.

Healthy Start Program receives accreditation
The YWCA of Hawaii Island Healthy Start Program has been accredited as a provider of home visiting services to families who want to improve their child’s health, nutrition and developmental outcomes.
Healthy Start provides home visiting services to eligible families in East Hawaii. Program staff partner with parents to address individual needs, set and support goals, build a home environment around the child and connect parents with helpful services and resources within the community. The services are free, voluntary, and confidential.
