Paulette Carreira Luiz, 63, of Papaikou died June 17, 2014, at her residence. Born Dec. 31, 1950, in Hilo, she was a waitress for Miwa’s and Osaka Restaurant in Hilo and member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. June 29 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for an 11 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.
She is survived by son, Elliot Fernandez of Washington; brothers, George (Marcy) Luiz and Michael (Aza) Luiz, both of Washington, David (Audrey) Luiz of Papaikou; three grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Linda Christine Silva, 65, of Pahoa died June 22, 2014, at home. Born Feb. 1, 1949, in Honolulu, she was a homemaker.

Manuel “Manny” Yona Kaapana Jr., 77, of Keaau died June 20, 2014, at his home in Paradise Park. Born Feb. 4, 1937, in Pahala, he retired as a truck driver for Kuwaye Trucking and played softball in the kupuna league for Hui O Na Kalohe.
Friends may call at 2 p.m. July 26 at the family home in Panaewa.
He is survived by wife, Sally Kaapana of Keaau; son, Camron (Cheryl) Kaapana of California; daughters, Nani Kaapana of Kona, Caroline (Susu) Kaapana of Hilo; stepdaughter, Patti (Del) Lanhart of Washington; sisters, Mildred Naeole of Maui, Edwina Desmon of Kansas; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jefferson Falkner
Jefferson “Jeff” Robert Falkner, 85, died June 15, 2014, at his residence. Born Aug. 18, 1928, in Bessemer, Ala., he was owner of Jm Enterprises, a fruit and flower grower, retired electronics engineer, Korean War Marine Corps veteran and member of the Camp Tarawa Detachment No. 1255, Marine Corps League.

Dawn Tilman, 77, of Orchidland Estates died June 2, 2014, in Hilo. Born Nov. 9, 1936, in Las Vegas, she was a member of the California Bar and practiced law in California and for the federal government until she retired as an administrative judge for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
She is survived by husband, William Elston; children, Ellen Crane, Bonnie Scott, Paul Scott, Stephanie Elston, Brynn Elston, William Elston; siblings, Rick Tilman, Kathleen Tilman, Tim Tilman, Paul Tilman; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Linda M. Robertson, 73, died May 9, 2014, at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born Dec. 24, 1940, in Englewood, N.J., she was a banking operations manager and retired from Bank of America, worked with St. James Episcopal Church in Waimea, and worked with Marshallese children in an after-school program.
She is survived by husband, Thomas Robertson; sons, Michael Robertson, Casey Robertson; stepson, Michael Robertson; stepdaughter, LeeAnn Atwood; seven grandchildren.

Orman “Bud” Archie Hon, 85, of Hilo died June 15, 2014, at his residence. Born in Denver, he was a retired manufacturer representative.

Sandra Fae Johnson, 69, of Kailua-Kona died June 8, 2014. Born Aug. 7, 1944, in Chico, Calif., she was a registered nurse, homemaker and attended Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church.

Masaichi Fukushima
Masaichi “Masa” Fukushima, 68, of Captain Cook died May 26, 2014, at Kona Community Hospital. Born July 23, 1945, in Honaunau, he was a coffee and macadamia nut farmer and also retired from KTA Kailua-Kona.

He is survived by sisters, Matsuno Katz of Las Vegas, Sanae (Sueto) Matsumura of Kealakekua; brothers, Katsuyoshi Fukushima and Koichi (Joan) Fukushima, both of Captain Cook, John (Betty) Fukushima of North Carolina; one uncle; one aunt; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Bruce Smith
Bruce Tory Smith, 69, of Keaau died June 11, 2014, at Hospice of Hilo’s Pohai Malama facility. Born in Tacoma, Wash., he was a retired pilot, car driver and Korean War Army veteran.
