“Researching Your Market and Branding Your Business to Increase Client Loyalty” is a workshop slated from 2 to 4 p.m. July 2 at Kuakini Tower, Suite 213, 75-5722 Kuakini Highway. Participants will learn to how to research their marketplace, identify their competitive edge and the process of developing a unique brand. Instructors are Hazel Beck and Alex Mitchell.

slated in Waimea
The monthly business first pau hana will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. July 1 at the Red Water Cafe lanai in Waimea. Stone named program director at KPRi
Independently owned KPRi, San Diego announces the appointment of Matt Stone as program director. Stone joins KPRi from Kailua-Kona and Hilo where he has been program director of three Big Island radio stations since 2012. Prior to that, he was assistant program director at CBS Radio’s KSCF, San Diego. Before joining CBS, Stone held program director positions with Saga Communications and Cumulus Media, including adult rock station KRUZ, Santa Barbara, Calif., and the KRUZ Network. He has 10 years experience as program director in a wide variety of formats.
Ragasa becomes
Xerox marketer
Xerox Hawaii has appointed Debbie Ragasa to marketing representative at the company’s Hawaii Island office.
In her new position, Ragasa is responsible for providing new and existing clients with the state government in Hilo, and all companies located north of Hilo to Waikoloa and Waimea with solutions to effectively manage their documents, allowing customers to focus on their core business.
Prior to joining Xerox Hawaii, Ragasa worked at Goodwill Industries of Hawaii in Hilo for nearly 10 years, where she was promoted to various positions; the most recent as human resources manager. Prior to that, Ragasa served as retail sales manager for AT&T Wireless in Hilo.

Mango Medical
opens in Kailua-Kona
Mango Medical has opened a medical office in the heart of Kailua-Kona. This is the third Mango Medical office to open on the Big Island with an office in Waimea and one in Ocean View.
Mango Medical Kona is in the Lanihau Professional building next to the bowling alley. It is a family practice office treating all ages. There are three providers in the office, one physician and two nurse practitioners. They are all accepting new patients and will accept almost all insurances. Mango Medical Kona accepts walk-in patients.

opens in Waimea
Luna Italian Restaurant opened for business May 31 in the Waimea Shopping Center.
Formerly Solimene’s, the restaurant, open mornings for coffee and in-house baked pastries, serves lunch and dinner daily. The restaurant offers traditional Italian cuisine with locally sourced ingredients.
