HONOLULU — A woman has died after jumping off a sea cliff near Portlock.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports the 22-year-old woman jumped off the sea cliff Sunday afternoon in the Spitting Cave area and apparently drowned.
Honolulu firefighters and Ocean Safety personnel took a call on the incident at 2 p.m.
Emergency personnel found the woman in the water. She was brought to shore at Maunalua Bay and paramedics pronounced her dead.
A 19-year-old man in April died at the same location. He jumped into the ocean from a ledge and was carried out by a strong current.
Spitting Cave is a popular spot for cliff jumping. As waves roll into the cave and hit the back wall, white water cascades back out of the mouth of the cave.
