AN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Austin Davidson was 2 for 4 with a two-run double, Corey Miller pitched into the seventh inning, and Pepperdine held on to beat Arizona State 3-2 on Friday in NCAA regional play.
Brett Lilek got only two outs for Arizona State (33-23) before leaving because of a sternum injury. He was hurt when he landed on the ball diving to make a catch covering first base on a potential inning-ending double play. Aaron Brown was safe for the Titans (40-16), and Davidson scored.
Miller (9-4) was the winner, allowing two runs on three hits and four walks while striking out four in 7 1/3 innings. Eric Karch got his 14th save.
Davison added a two-out, bases-loaded double in the second that scored two. Hutton Moyer also was 2 for 4 for the Waves.
Lilek took the loss for the Sun Devils. Freshman Seth Martinez allowed two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out seven in 6 1/3 innings of relief. Trever Allen was 2 for 4 with a solo home run in the second for Arizona State.
Pepperdine will play Cal Poly today, and Arizona State will play Sacramento State in an elimination game.
OREGON ST. 2, NORTH DAKOTA ST. 1
CORVALLIS, Ore. — Andrew Moore set a postseason school record with 14 strikeouts and top national seed Oregon State got past North Dakota State 2-1 Friday night in the NCAA Corvallis regional.
Oregon State (43-12) got a two-out solo home run from Dylan Davis to take the lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. Oregon State’s bullpen took over from there to shut down the Bisons and seal the victory.
Moore (6-5) was dominant after giving up a solo home run to Kyle Kleinendorst in the second inning. He gave up four hits and North Dakota State did not advance a runner past second base after the second inning.
OSU tied it at 1 on Tyler Morrison’s RBI groundout in the second inning.
Kleinendorst went 2-4 with an RBI for North Dakota State (25-25).
David Ernst (4-5) gave up two runs on 10 hits over 7 1/3 innings.
LONG BEACH STATE 6, NORTH CAROLINA 1
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Eric Hutting and Carlton Vaughn had two-run hits in the fourth inning to lead Long Beach State to a 6-1 victory over North Carolina on Friday in the opening game of the NCAA baseball Gainesville regional at Florida’s McKethan Stadium.
After being retired in order in their first three at-bats, the Dirtbags (33-24) batted around in the fourth against Tar Heels starter Trent Thornton (7-4), scoring all of their runs and on all of their five hits.
Hutting drove in two with a single to left and Vaughn followed with a two-run double in the left-center gap against relief pitcher Trevor Kelly.
Long Beach State sophomore Andrew Rohrbach (7-2) didn’t allow a run until the ninth. He gave up seven hits and did not walk a batter in 8 1/3 innings.
Long Beach State plays the College of Charleston, while North Carolina (34-26) faces Florida in an elimination game.
OREGON 18, CLEMSON 1
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Shaun Chase homered, doubled and drove in four runs Friday to lead No. 2 seed Oregon to an 18-1 thumping of No. 3 seed Clemson in the Nashville regional.
The Ducks (43-18) had a season-high 20 hits. Chase hit his 13th homer — a three-run blast — in the fourth inning. Tyler Baumgartner followed with a solo shot.
Oregon scored three in the second inning to pull ahead for good after allowing Clemson’s lone run in the first.
Oregon’s Tommy Thorpe (11-4) scattered five hits and four walks in seven innings.
Clemson’s Matthew Crownover (8-6) struck out seven but allowed eight earned runs in 3 2/3 innings. Crownover hadn’t given up more than four earned runs in any of his previous 29 career starts.
Oregon plays today against Vanderbilt, while Clemson (36-24) takes on Xavier in an elimination game.
CAL POLY 4, SACRAMENTO ST. 2
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Cal Poly ace Matt Imhof took a one-hitter into the eighth inning, No. 9 hitter John Schuknecht hit an RBI triple and the Mustangs beat Sacramento State 4-2 on Friday night to win in their first NCAA regional home game in Division I program history.
Imhof (10-4) finished by allowing two runs, one earned, and three hits in 7 2/3 innings. He struck out four and walked five to extend a program-record win total for Cal Poly (46-10).
Entering with a .270 batting average, Schuknecht was 2 for 3 and scored the game’s second run on a second-inning double by Mark Mathias. His triple in the third made it 3-0, and Mathias singled him in for a 4-0 cushion.
Sam Long took the loss for Sacramento State (39-23), giving up four runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out four in seven innings.
STANFORD 8, INDIANA STATE 1
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Cal Quantrill threw a four-hitter, and Jack Klein hit a three-run homer to lead Stanford to an 8-1 victory over Indiana State on Friday in the first game of the NCAA’s Bloomington regional.
The Cardinal (31-23) will play Indiana today, while Indiana State (35-17) will face Youngstown State in an elimination game.
Quantrill stuck out six, walked two and needed only 104 pitches to get through nine innings.
The Cardinal took a 1-0 lead in the first when Zach Hoffpauir singled up the middle to score Alex Blandino. In the sixth, Brant Whiting drove in Danny Diekroeger, and Klein hit his three-run shot off Ryan Keaffaber.
The Cardinal added three more runs in the ninth on RBI singles by Brett Michael Doran and Tommy Edman and a wild pitch that scored Doran.
Indiana State scored in the sixth on Jacob Hayes’s RBI double.

OKLAHOMA CITY — Hannah Rogers threw her fifth shutout of the postseason, Bailey Castro went 3 for 4 with a homer and two RBIs and Florida beat top-seeded Oregon in the Women’s College World Series.
Florida (52-12) moved within a win of reaching the best-of-three championship series and will be off until Sunday. Oregon (55-8-1) will face an elimination game today against Oklahoma or Louisiana-Lafayette.
Alabama 2, Kentucky 0
OKLAHOMA CITY — Jaclyn Traina threw a four-hitter, Leona Lafaele hit a two-run homer and Alabama beat Southeastern Conference rival Kentucky.
Alabama (52-11) needs one win to reach the best-of-three championship series and won’t play again until Sunday. Kentucky (50-18) will play Baylor or Florida State in an elimination game today.
