Hawaii Island police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man wanted for questioning in connection with a shoplifting case.

A surveillance camera captured an image of a suspect taking a cell phone case from a Hilo store at 50 E. Puainako St. on April 17, according to the Hawaii Police Department.

Anyone who knows the identity or whereabouts of the person in the photo should call the department’s nonemergency line at 935-3311.

Those who prefer to remain anonymous may call the islandwide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
