Thomas Walker had a pair of hits as UC Riverside overtook Hawaii on Friday night, and Dylan Stuart was lights out in relief as the Highlanders won 8-6 at Les Murakami Stadium.

Marc Flores and Kaeo Aliviado each produced two-run singles for the Rainbow Warriors (21-31, 5-18 Big West), who couldn’t protect a five-run lead.

Errors contributed to Riverside’s five-run rally in the fifth and its go-ahead run in the sixth. Walker’s double helped the Highlanders (26-27, 12-11) take a 7-6 lead.

Juliene Jones (0-2) took the loss in relief, allowing two runs (both unearned) and three hits, a walk and a strikeout in 3 2/3 innings. He also hit two batters.

Walker’s RBI single in the fifth knocked out UH starter Scott Kuzminsky.

Stuart (3-0) was sterling after taking over for Zach Varela in the fourth. The only runner he allowed came on a hit by pitch, but he was otherwise spotless in 5 2/3 innings, striking out two.

Kuzminsky yielded six hits and five runs in 4 1/3 innings. He walked three and fanned two.

UH finishes its season at 6:35 p.m. today against the Highlanders.
