Ever wonder what the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce is all about? Nonmembers, current members and new members are invited to attend a free two-hour informational presentation highlighting the chamber’s programs, services and benefits including an array of free publicity opportunities and a host of networking events. Open to the public, the event is from 9 to 11 a.m. June 3 at the West Hawaii Civic Center Community Hale, Building G.

Waimea Outdoor Circle meets Saturday
Waimea Outdoor Circle will holds its annual general membership meeting luncheon and silent auction from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Red Water Cafe.
A brief meeting and election of officers will be followed by a buffet lunch and a short presentation of community and volunteer awards. The featured speaker is Tim Bostock, artistic and managing director of Kahilu Theatre.

Spiritual dances
held Sunday
Dances of universal peace will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at New Thought Center in Kealakekua.
The dances involve moving in the moment while singing mantras and poetry of many spiritual traditions.
Women’s Veteran Day Celebration planned
The Veteran Centers of Hilo and Kona will host the fourth annual Women’s Veteran Day Celebration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 9 at Pohakuloa Training Area.

AARP driver safety class offered
Kona Palisades Association is sponsoring an AARP Smart Driver class at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Palisades Recreation Center on lower Kaiminani Drive.
This version of the driver safety class covers subjects that may affect drivers as they age, such as eye sight, reflexe, and problems at intersections. Participants may receive a discount on their insurance.

Cancer support group meets Tuesday
A cancer support group meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Teshima’s Restaurant in Honalo. People newly diagnosed with cancer, cancer survivors, interested caregivers and family members are welcome to attend.
