A 61-year-old man was rescued Friday afternoon after a report of a swimmer in distress at Kahaluu Beach Park in Keauhou.

A 61-year-old man was rescued Friday afternoon after a report of a swimmer in distress at Kahaluu Beach Park in Keauhou.

Responding to the 2:46 p.m. report, fire rescue personnel arrived on scene to find the man already out of the water and CPR underway, according to the Hawaii Fire Department. Medic 12 personnel continued treatment and transported the man to Kona Community Hospital.

No further information was avaiable on the man’s condition. Police also did not have any further information.
