In celebration of the launch of Hokulea and the Hikianalia’s Worldwide Voyage, the Polynesian Voyaging Society will provide a special showing of the restored and remastered high definition film, “The Navigators — Pathfinders of the Pacific” on May 23 at the Palace Theater in Hilo.

Opening remarks by filmmaker Sam Low start at 5:30 p.m. A panel of Hawaiian and South Pacific pwo, or master navigators and voyaging leadership will speak about their teacher, master navigator Mau Piailug and the worldwide voyage after the movie.

The program is free. Seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.
