Hickey to compete
for Ms. United States
Miss Hawaii United States 2013, Lauren Hickey, completed her yearlong reign and crowned the 2014 queen April 27 at Oahu’s Diamond Head Theatre. On the same day, Hickey was crowned “Ms. Hawaii United States 2014,” a division for women ages 25 to 39. Not only is Hickey the first Big Island contestant to win either title, it is unprecedented for one contestant to win both divisions. She finished in the top 15 in last year’s national finals, placing higher than any previous Miss Hawaii United States. Hickey will compete for the title of Ms. United States 2014 July 6 at the national pageant in Washington D.C.
