PACIFIC MISSILE RANGE FACILITY, Lauai — The Navy says the executive officer of Pacific Missile Range Facility on Kauai has been relieved of his duties.
Facility spokesman Stefan Alford said Friday commanding officer Capt. Bruce Hay relieved Cmdr. Garron Morris after losing confidence in his ability to carry out his duties.
Morris has been reassigned within the same command.
Being detached for cause is an administrative measure. Morris doesn’t face disciplinary action.
Alford says Morris has the right to submit a statement in response to being detached for cause.
The Pacific Missile Range Facility hosts military exercises and missile defenses tests. It includes more than 42,000 of square miles of controlled airspace and 1,100 square miles of instrumented underwater training area.
