Marinalei Rezentes

Marinalei Nalani Rezentes, 16, of Hilo died April 2 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a sophomore at Hilo High School, a member of Hilo High School’s water polo and soccer team and Ka Uhane Hemolele O Ka Malamana Church.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. April 16 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 6 p.m. service. Cremation follows. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by parents, Rodney and Colleen Rezentes of Hilo; sisters, Sharnell Spillman, Raynette Rezentes and Pomai Rezentes, all of Hilo; maternal grandmother, Katherine Mendoza of Hilo; three nieces; a nephew; numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

Betty Yazaki

Betty Kazuko Yazaki, 72, of Hilo died March 17, 2014, at Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu. Born in Hilo, she was a retired physical therapy aide and licensed practical nurse at Hilo Medical Center and member of Nohea Kumiai and Hilo Medical Center Retirees Club.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. April 19 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 10 a.m. service. Friends request casual attire be worn.

She is survived by son, Glenn (Angela) Yazaki of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Henry (Norine) Okuhara of Hilo, Thomas (Wanthine) Okuhara of Florida; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

David Inkster

David “Bones” Lawrence Inkster, 74, of Kealakekua died April 7, 2014, at home. Born Aug. 28, 1939, in Saranac, N.Y., he served in the Navy and owned several successful tree trimming companies.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 19 at Christ Church Hall on Konawaena High School Road in Kealakekua for a service.

He is survived by wife, Sally Inkster; sons, Kekoa (Joe Matta) Inkster, Seth (Jesika) Smith, Erik (Amanda Englehardt) Smith, Raymond Carrillo; daughters, Shannon (Robert) Impey, Nicole (Dominic) Torrijos, Melissa (Kawika) Takaki, Laura (Jim) Headrick, Cheryl Daro, Lisa Carrillo; 16 grandchildren.

Gloria Clason

Gloria Clason, 83, of Hilo died March 30, 2014, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in New York, she was a retired head cashier.

Services will be held later.

She is survived by daughters, Gema (Tony) Hensley of Texas, Michelle (Michael) Yaris of Kauai, Lynn (Randall) Nelson of California; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.

Susan Dietrich

Susan Antoinette Dietrich, 95, of Kailua-Kona died April 2, 2014, at her residence. Born April 8, 1918, in Lompoc, Calif., she was a piano teacher and member of the PEO Women’s Organization and Eastern Star.

No services will be held. Donations may be made to Hospice of Kona, P.O. Box 4130, Kailua-Kona, HI 96745.

She is survived by husband, Robert Dietrich of Kailua-Kona; son, Michael (Rae Fujimori-Godden) Godden of Kealakekua; daughters, Virginia Madison and Janet (Al) Cariss, both of California; six grandchildren; one great-grandson.

Albert Matsuda

Albert Harumi Matsuda, 79, of Hilo died March 28, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Jan. 10, 1935, in Pahoa he was a retired state Department of Education teacher.

He is survived by wife, Lillian Matsuda of Hilo; daughter, Leanne (Dave) Niino of Mililani, Oahu; sister, Dorothy Kansako of Honomu; three grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Eileen Shock

Eileen Ruth Shock, 67, of Captain Cook died April 6, 2014, at her home. Born March 9, 1947, in Ridgway, Pa., she was a homemaker, a retired assistant property manager for Country Club Villas in Keauhou and former co-captain of a sailing yacht in the Caribbean.

Private services will be held in Washington.

She is survived by husband, Kenneth Shock of Captain Cook; sons, Scott (Jean Lee) Shock of Seattle, Andrew Shock of Arcata, Calif.; daughter, Emily (Chad) Babcock of Seattle; sister, Louise McPherson of Gilroy, Calif.; brother, Robert (Lynette) Klawuhn of Los Altos, Calif.; three grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Shon Luta

Shon Micheal Kawika “Goose” Luta, 36, of Ocean View died April 4, 2014, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Sept. 26, 1977, in Kealakekua, he was a painter for WE Painting Co. and member of the painter’s union.

Private services were held. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

He is survived by wife, Jody Luta of Ocean View; daughters, Tyra (Dylan DePriest-Tag) Jones, Tia Jones and Tory Jones, all of Kailua-Kona, Tayler Libarios of Ocean View; son, Tyler Libarios of Ocean View; parents, Charles and Irene Luta of Ocean View; brothers, Charles (Joy) Luta Jr. of Waimea, Preston (Davelyn) Luta of Kalaoa, Bryson (Danielle) Luta and Braxton (Kanoe) Luta, both of Ocean View; God parents, Andy and Alice Quanan of Waimea; one grandson; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Tracey Eiko Kaneshiro, 56, of Hilo died April 11, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Aug. 8, 1957, in Hilo, she was the president of Hilo Radiator &Glass Shop Inc., member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and its board of spiritual affairs, a Dharma school teacher, member of the East Hawaii Hiroshima Kenjin Kai and Big Island Automotive Trades Association and leader of the Cloverbuds 4H Club.

Friends may call at 3 p.m. April 19 at Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin Buddhist Temple for a 5 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by husband, Roy Kaneshiro of Hilo; daughter, Kandyce Kaneshiro of Montana; stepdaughter, Crystal Kaneshiro of Hilo; mother, Saeko Sato of Hilo; sisters, Colleen (Robin) Morishita and Maureen (John) Conlon, both of California; two grandchildren; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Dixon Choko Oyadomari, 94, of Keaau died March 21, 2014, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born Aug. 31, 1919, in Olaa, he was a retired automotive and truck repair shop supervisor for the former Puna Sugar Co. and member of Puna Hongwanji Kyodan, Keaau Village Kumiai and Hui Okinawa.

Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.

He is survived by son, Alvin (Sharman) Oyadomari of Keaau; sister, Yoshie Ung of Hilo; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Kathleen Hamilton

Kathleen Hamilton, 71, of Glenwood died March 26, 2014, at her residence. Born in Waialua, Oahu, she was a retired preschool teacher.

Services were held on Oahu.

She is survived by husband, Jeffery Hamilton of Glenwood; daughters, Tomi (Ron) Peppler of Kailua-Kona, Rena (Jamie) Roberts of Tennessee, Kiki Hamilton-Amoncia and Ulu Hamilton, both of Honolulu; sons, Lee Toki of Mountain View, Pono Hamilton of Honolulu; sisters, Irene Tays of Texas, Dani Hookala of Honolulu; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Shawn “Burp” Cameron Weeks, 46, of Pahoa died Dec. 6, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Kauai, he was an auto mechanic.
