Nonprofit changes
its name to Accessible Hawaii
Disabled Adventures has changed its name to Accessible Hawaii, a nonprofit organization serving residents and visitors with limited mobility.
The revised website, accessiblehawaii.com, is a wealth of hard-to-find information about adaptive activities from 14 local providers and recommendations for 11 accessible beaches. A colorful map of downtown Kailua-Kona guides visitors along the safest walking path on Alii Drive. Accessible restaurants, transportation, and Americans with Disabilities Act compliant accommodations provide invaluable tips for newcomers.
To support the goals of adaptive and accessible services in West Hawaii view the organization’s website, the video “Go Beyond” on YouTube, or contact Hartley at 896-8967 or jeanmhartley@gmail.com.
