A Captain Cook woman was charged late Monday with several crimes following the shooting of a Kona resident.
Detectives charged Randi-Keli K. Banagan, 22, with second-degree attempted murder, second-degree assault, first-degree terroristic threatening, second-degree reckless endangering, use of a firearm in the commission of a separate felony, three counts of not having a place to keep loaded firearm, three counts of having loaded firearm on a public highway, not having place to keep ammunition, two counts of illegally transferring possession of firearms, two counts of failing to have a permit to acquire firearm, two counts of ownership or possession firearm when prohibited, third-degree promoting a dangerous drug and having drug paraphernalia.
Her bail was set at $498,000. During her initial court hearing this morning, she was ordered to appear in 3rd Circuit Court Wednesday for an arraignment and plea hearing.
Police said Banagan allegedly shot a 26-year-old man Friday morning near Holualoa. He was taken to Kona Community Hospital where he was treated and released for his injuries on Friday.
