With the generosity of the Wailoa Center and the PAI Foundation, 17 Native Hawaiian artists will showcase their work in the fourth annual Maoli Arts Month Gallery.
The art gallery show will be entitled “Ha,” meaning “fourth.” The artists will cover many genres and media with traditional and contemporary artwork.
The featured artists are: Beau Jack Key, Nelson Makua, Kainoa Makua, Ski Kwiatkowski, Lehua Waipa Ah Nee, Lehua and Kilohana Domingo, Merci Manalili, Keahi Tomas, Kaohu O. Seto, Kanani Kaulukukui, Jimie Ramos, Moses Kealamakia, Momi Greene, Duncan Kaohuoka’ala Seto, Dean Kaahanui, and Bernice Akamine.
A grand opening will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Wailoa Center, 200 Piopio Street in Hilo. A meet the artists reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. April 22 and a second opening reception will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. that day.
