Suzanne West and Edmond Tessien were wed March 4, 1944, at the Benson Hotel in Portland, Ore., while the groom was home on leave following 25 missions over Germany, serving in the Army Air Force during World War II. Mrs. Tessien said she remembers her dress cost $49.95, the flowers $50 and the pastor and church fees were $50.

The couple has lived in Hawaii since 1997. They have three children.
