Military units are scheduled to convoy between Kawaihae Harbor and the Pohakuloa Training Area today.

From 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., convoys will travel from Kawaihae to PTA, using Akoni Pule Highway, Queen Kaahumanu Highway, Waikoloa Road, Mamalahoa Highway and the Daniel K. Inouye Highway, acording to the U.S. Army Garrison, Hawaii. Hawaii County police will escort the convoys.

Military-based units are also scheduled to convoy between the Keaukaha Military Reserve and the Pohakuloa Training Area today. The units are expected to redeploy from PTA to Keaukaha on Wednesday (March 5) from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., according to the U.S. Army.

From 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., convoys will travel from Keaukaha to PTA using Hilo Airport Road, Kanoelehua Avenue, Highway 11, West Puainakou Street, Komohana Avenue, Puainakou Extension and the Daniel K. Inouye Highway, according to the U.S. Army Garrison, Hawaii. Military police will escort the units.

The U.S. Army is working closely with the Hawaii County Police Department to coordinate the convoys. Motorists are advised to be alert and drive with care.
