A Deep &Beyond benefit featured a silent auction and pupu served during sunset Saturday at Kona Outdoor Circle.
The keynote speaker, Marty Mimmack, gave a glimpse into his life as a person living without arms. He encouraged attendees to cultivate hearts of compassion, which is the foundation of love. He also discussed how Deep &Beyond’s Snorkel Days have contributed to his quality of life.
Director Annamari Dietrichson shared the story of how Deep &Beyond started, the accomplishments of the past five years and reflected on the exponential growth of this young nonprofit. She shared how Deep &Beyond is creating opportunities for people with disabilities and disadvantaged youth to explore nature, participate in adventure and experience freedom. She also shared stories of freedom and transformation of the lives of the participants of the programs: Snorkel Day for people with disabilities and Adventure Camps for disadvantaged youth.
