A free ongoing women’s hot hula fitness aerobic dancercise class occurs from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at Yano Hall in Captain Cook, according to the county Department of Parks and Recreation.

Soil and water group meets in Waimea
The Mauna Kea Soil and Water Conservation District meets from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the U.S. Department of Agriculture/Natural Resources Conservation Service Waimea Service Center, located at 67-1185 Mamalahoa Highway, Suite 148, in Waimea.

Pruning workshop scheduled Thursday
Kona Coffee Farmers Association presents a Coffee Talk pruning workshop beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday at Bob Nelson’s farm, located at 79-7350 Mamalahoa Highway in Kainaliu. Signs will be displayed. Those attending will learn the proper methods to ensure strong future growth. The workshop is free to association members; $10 to nonmembers which may be applied to a membership. All are welcome.

Kahilu hosting Bad Boys of Dance
Rasta Thomas’ Bad Boys of Dance performs at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Kahilu Theatre in Waimea. The troupe will perform to music hits that include “Stronger” by Kanye West, “My Sharona” by The Knack, “Simply Irresistible” by Robert Palmer, “Moves Like Jagger” by Maroon 5, “Stayin. Alive” by the Bee Gees and “Sexyback” by Justin Timberlake. The Bad Boys are joined by Bad Girl Adrienne Canterna for this Hawaii tour

VFW auxiliary meeting Saturday
The ladies auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 12122 meets at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Veterans Center on Makala Boulevard in Kailua-Kona.
The post will also host a Valentine’s Day dinner and dance from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday with “The Forties” theme, featuring the Johnny Shot Band. The cost is $15, inclusive.
On Feb. 28, there will be a beef stroganoff dinner and dance between 5 to 9 p.m, featuring Jack and the Rippers. The cost is $15, inclusive.
