Primotivo Sombrio
Primotivo “Patrick” Sombrio, 69, of Kaneohe, Oahu, died Jan. 7, 2014, at Castle Medical Center in Honolulu. Born July 4, 1944, in Honolulu, he was a musician and member of the Faith Hope and Love Christian Center on Oahu.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Feb. 8 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for an 11 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.
He is survived by sons, Patrick (Cecilia) Sombrio Jr. and Aaron Sombrio, both of Hilo; daughters, Fonda (Rick) Ash of Spring, Texas, Summer Sombrio of Las Vegas; sisters, Diane (Martin) Feliciano and Norma (Manuel) Martinez, both of Honokaa, Anita Takiue, Shirley (Clifford) Souza and Yolanda Gibo, all of Hilo, Abbie Gibo of Waimea; brothers, Celestino (June) Gibo of Kailua-Kona, Denis (Kelly) Gibo of Waipunalei; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
David Tetz
David Alan Tetz, 60, of Pahoa died Jan. 27, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Champaign, Ill., he was a carpenter.
A celebration of his life will take place the afternoon of Feb. 8 at Punaluu Beach Park in Ka‘u.
He is survived children, Adam Tetz, Amanda (Chad) Grove and Jasmine (Brent) Melsa, all of Minnesota; father, Ronald Tetz of Colorado; sisters, Susan Mason of Montana, Nancy (Mark) Johnson of California; brother, Karl (Kathy Bennett) Tetz of Mountain View; companion, Judy Egger of Maui; nine grandchildren.

Leonard Fernandez
Leonard Paris Fernandez, 65, of Kurtistown died Jan. 12, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Kauai, he was a retired boilermaker and member of the Boilermakers Local 204, and later 627.

Kent “Kento” Sadao Hamamoto, 56, of Kurtistown died Jan. 22, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Nov. 18, 1957, in Honolulu, he was a supervisor at Hilo Public Library and member of Soka Gakkai International-USA and United Public Workers.

He is survived by brother, Kert (Janet) Hamamoto, of Kurtistown; two nieces; cousins.

Annette Kubojiri
Annette Shizuko (Sugita) Kubojiri, 80, of Keaau died Jan. 26, 2014, at her home. Born Aug. 17, 1933, in Tokyo, she was retired from the Keaau School cafeteria and member of Puna Covenant Church.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Feb. 10 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 10:30 a.m. service. Burial follows at 1 p.m. at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No.2. Family requests casual attire be worn.
She is survived by husband, Frederick Kubojiri of Keaau; sons, Harry (Jill) Kubojiri of Hilo, Kenneth Kubojiri of Keaau, Edwin Kubojiri of Mountain View; daughters, Marian Hasegawa of Honolulu, Chako (Richard Garcia) Kubojiri of New Mexico; eight grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Michie Kimura
Michie Kiyota Kimura, 81, of Waimea died Jan. 30, 2014, at her home. Born April 27, 1932, in Ookala, she was a Hawaiian feather lei maker and member of Kamuela Hongwanji Mission, Buddhist Women’s Association and American Japanese Civic Club.

Judy Magnuson
Judy May Magnuson, 69, of Pepeekeo died Jan. 26, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born March 27, 1944, in Waukegan, Ill., she was a homemaker and member of Hawaii Island Adult Care.

Lupe Apodaca, 88, of Hawi died Jan. 30, 2014, at her residence. Born Feb. 1, 1925, in Superior, Ariz., she was a homemaker.
