Auntie’s Angels seeks produce donations
Auntie’s Angels-Big Island is a nonprofit dedicated to decreasing the food deficiency at Hualalai Elderly Housing. It is offering farmers and property owners two ways to donate their ripe or excess produce.
Produce can be donated direct to the housing complex by contacting Jan Benlein, director, at 329-7897. Ideal drop off days are Fridays and Saturdays that coordinate with the organization’s end of the month canned food giveaway.
Items can also be dropped off from 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays at Keauhou Farmers Market at Keauhou Shopping Center.
Problem horse program planned for Jan. 25, 26
A problem horse demonstration with master horseman Dennis Reis as seen on RFD TV’s 2014 No Dust Tour is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 25 and 26 at B Bar D Ranch, 73-4209 Hawaii Belt Road.
Reis and his wife, Deborah, will share their love and knowledge of horses as Dennis gently and effectively helps a horse with behavioral issues over two days.
The cost is $10 for one or both days. Call 800-732-8220 for more information or to register for the workshop.
