Kona Historical Society announces holiday closures

Kona Historical Society, including the H.N. Greenwell Store Museum and Portuguese Stone Oven Program, and the Kona Coffee Living History Farm will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday for Christmas, and Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 for New Year’s. The Portuguese Stone Oven Program will be closed Thursday and Jan. 2 for the holidays.

Libraries list Christmas hours

Kailua-Kona Public Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, while the library in Naalehu will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pahala’s library will be open from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

All public libraries will be closed Christmas Day.

Seniors cancel meetings during the holidays

Kailua-Kona Seniors will not meet Wednesday or Jan. 1. The group’s next meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Jan. 8 at Hale Halawai.

Two cruise ships arrive this week

Two cruise ships are scheduled to visit Kailua-Kona this week, according to the state Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation. The Pride of America will visit Wednesday and the MS Statendam will arrive Thursday.
