In conjunction with Subaru’s “Share the Love” campaign, the Kona and Hilo Subaru dealerships are holding a clothing drive for Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii Island until Dec. 31. Gently used clothing and small household items may be donated. Proceeds will benefit the organization’s youth mentoring programs.
Camp Tarawa detachment plans holiday social
The Camp Tarawa Detachment 1255 of the Marine Corps League invites the public to its social and business meeting Saturday at Banjy’s Paradise Bar &Grill at the Waikoloa Village Golf Course.
A no-host lunch will be held at 11:30 a.m. and the business meeting will commence at 1 p.m. Meet with Marines, Navy corpsmen and associate members of the detachment who are keeping alive the history of the Marine Divisions that trained on Hawaii Island during World War II. Attendees should bring a nonperishable food item for donation.

Amateur radio group meeting Sunday
The Kona Amateur Radio Society meets from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the south end of Wawaloli Beach Park, at the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii Authority.
Members and others interested in amateur radio are invited to attend. A potluck picnic will take place during the meeting. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to share.
