Lucas St. George led the way with 21 points Saturday night as Waiakea overtook Konawaena to win the championship game of the Waiakea-Keaau boys preseason basketball classic.

Kahinu Alapai scored 12 points at Keaau High and the Warriors surged ahead in the third quarter to win for the fourth straight day.

Jonah Bredeson had 19 points for the Wildcats.

Hawaii Prep 49, Pahoa 41: Kalan Camero and David Ovbadbedia each scored 13 points to lead Ka Makani to third place at the tournament. Justin Gecas added 10 for HPA, while Tolby Saito tallied a game-high 25 for the Daggers.

Hilo 57, Keaau 39: Jalen Carvalho’s 28 points carried the Vikings, who also got Austin Dante’s 19 points to win the fifth-place game. Edgar Ventura added nine and Kakaku Lum Ho had eight for the Cougars.

Kaiser 69, Ka‘u 32: The Cougars of the Oahu Interscholastic Association road the balanced scoring of Chance Kalaugher (16), Tairus Hill (14) and Nicolas Lebeck (13) to finish seventh. Lehre Vidal had nine for the Trojans, while Alexis Alejo and Kaimanu Medeiros-Dancel had eight apiece.

In consolation games at Waiakea earlier Saturday, it was:

Kamehameha-Hawaii 70, Kohala 50: Bayley-Allen Manliguis scored 16 points and Pukana Vincent added 14 to lead Kamehameha-Hawaii. Mikala Jordan led the Cowboys with 20 points.

Honokaa 60, St. Joseph 48: Shyrome Batin scored 17 points and Wayne Vaoga and Nathan Gascon chipped in 10 apiece to lead the Dragons. Ben Uhlman led the Cardinals with 21 points and Cole DeSilva added 14.
