Aloha Performing Arts Company has selected a cast for “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” to be performed at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2:30 p.m. Sundays, Dec. 6 through 22, at Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu.
The play is written by Barbara Robinson and will be guest directed by Roxanne Fox.
The cast features local performers Matthew Haider, Jana Powell, Riley Anne Newton and Kai Bram as the Bradley family, and as the Herdman family: Madison Lee Vetter, Robert J. Vetter III, Hope Boyd, Lauren Gabbe, Vincent Hicks and Dominic Altamirano. Angels and shepherds will be played by Alexa Altamirano, Mehana Grace Guy, Jayci Kaimiola, Jade Onaka, Madison Bram, Eloisa De Farias, Michelle Axelson, Olivia Loney, Zea May Olson Levine, Patrick Riehle, Annalisse Nolder and Pomai and Dylan Magoon-Haider. Meddling church ladies will be played by Karen Barry, Paula Cornwell, Thelina O’Daniel and Ann Rudd. The long-suffering Rev. Hopkins is played by Dick Hershberger, and the pageant is narrated by Kristen Cole. Robin Noyes is assistant director, Toni Reynolds is stage manager, producers are Annabelle Treacy and Barry. Designers include Gerald Lucena, set; Kerry Matsumoto, props; Miguel Montez, sound; and Bob Gage, lighting.
