Nohea Kahiawalu O Keaumakani Aana, 4, of Honolulu died Nov. 1, 2013, at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children. She was born in Honolulu.

She is survived by mother, Sheana Aana of Keaau; father, Perry Aana of Keeau; grandparents, Minerva Aana of Keaau, Ramona Kahana of Honolulu; brothers, Maka Kahana and Samson Aana, both of Keaau, Ikaika Kahana-Aana of Honolulu; sisters, Mahina Homalon, Uilani Aana, Nauoe Aana and Nanea Aana, all of Keaau, Tiana Aana-Sutton of Honolulu; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Benjamin Dela Cruz

Benjamin “Hamin” Acosta Dela Cruz, 64, of Waimea died Nov. 3, 2013, at Hale Hoola Hamakua. Born March 18, 1949, in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a former farm hand for Hirako Farms.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. Nov. 23 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa for a 10 a.m. service. Burial follows at Honokaa Catholic Cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by mother, Margarita Dela Cruz of Waimea; brothers, Alfredo (Leticia) Dela Cruz of Papaaloa, Jeff (Liza) Dela Cruz of Waimea; sisters, Clarisa (Vance) Honda and Chita (Ryan) Arai, both of Waimea, Delia (Wilfred) Gaspar of Paauilo, Lucia (Alberto) Gullaba of Washington; seven nephews; 10 nieces; 16 grandnephews and grandnieces; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Luana Kanani Holokahi Hook, 72, of Hawi died Oct. 26, 2013, at Castle Medical Center on Oahu. Born Oct. 12, 1941, in Hilo, she was a homemaker and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Nov. 23 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kohala Ward, for an 11 a.m. service. Burial will be at Hawaiian Memorial Cemetery Park in Kaneohe, Oahu. Family requests aloha attire be worn.

She is survived by husband, George Hook of Hawi; sons, Jared (Zaclyn) Hook of Kona, Jeremy (Lara) Hook and Jacob (Mary) Hook, both of Hawi; daughters, Deanne (Jason) Ah Sing and Heather Hook, both of Hawi, Brianne (Philip) Richter of Kaneohe, Oahu; 17 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Patricia “Pat” Louise Leilani Nartatez, 64, of Puna died Nov. 7, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Honolulu.

Ronald “Bones” “Juju” Futoshi Saiki Jr., 71, of Keaau died Nov. 3, 2013, at home. Born March 15, 1942, in Hilo, he was a retired linesman for Hawaii Electric Light Co. and an Vietnam Army veteran.

Margaret Shizue Ushijima, 86, of Hilo died Nov. 9, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Oct. 6, 1927, in Laupahoehoe, she was a retired attorney.

Jewell Leimomi LaStell Johanna Key Cuizon, 70, of Puna died Nov. 4, 2013, at home. Born April 21, 1943, in Palolo, Oahu, she was a homemaker and member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

James “Jimmy” “Uncle Boy” David Kalili Jr., 64, of Kahaluu died Sept. 12, 2013, at Nakamaru Hale. Born March 2, 1949, in Honaunau, he was a former state Department of Parks and Recreation maintenance worker, rock wall mason, professional football player and little league and high school football coach.

Alexandrine Maile (Legaspi) Olival, 85, of Hilo died Nov. 11, 2013, at home. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker, former insurance agent for the Phil-American and Pacific Union Insurance companies and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Margaret “Midge” Jones van der Flier of Waikoloa died Nov. 5, 2013, at The Hague, Netherlands. She was born June 26, 1918, in Wales, United Kingdom.

She is survived by two stepdaughters; a granddaughter; two great-grandchildren.

Elaine Sumiyoshi

Elaine Kazuko Sumiyoshi, 89, of Hilo died Nov. 10, 2013, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born April 7, 1924, in Manchuria, China, she was a minister for the Tenrikyo Puna Church.

Private services were held.

She is survived by daughter, Seiko (Kenichi) Osanai of Tokyo; two brothers; two sisters; three grandchildren.

Toshio Furuyama

Toshio Furuyama, 102, of Hilo died Nov. 9, 2013, at his home. Born in Papaikou, he was a retired barber.

Private services will be held. Family requests no flowers or monetary gifts.

He is survived by son, Ricky Furuyama of Hilo.
