Rydell performing Saturday night

Rydell performing Saturday night

Performance artist Katy Rydell presents a montage of the world’s collective wisdom about flatulence at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Donkey Mill Art Center in Holualoa. Tickets are $15 for members; $20 for nonmembers. For reservations, call 322-3362.

Everyone has something to say about farts. Rydell has been collecting material on this subject ever since her graduate school days. Her biggest problem is choosing from an overwhelming wealth of material. Ancient tales, personal narratives and modern headlines blend humor and wisdom to create a rich commentary on the human experience, about shame and greed, love and wonder. “The Other ‘F’ Word” received a standing ovation at its premiere in PortFringe 2013.

Rydell is an author, poet and playwright. Her career as a spoken word artist has taken her to theaters and festivals across the country. For more about Rydell, visit katyrydell.com

The Donkey Mill Art Center is a nonprofit charitable organization offering art education for adults and youth. For more information, visit donkeymillartcenter.org.
