Adult finalists were:
c Jurors’ Choice, “The Vanishing Palila” by Dennis Leatherman;
c Two-Dimensional Work, professional first place, “Place of Refuge” by Margaret Barnaby; and amateur first place, “keaka o ka keiki by Carol Noel;
c Three-Dimensional Work, professional first place, “Pueo: Owls from ridge to reef” by John Mydock;
c Photography, professional first place,“Apapane Sunset” by Joseph Ruesin; and amateur first place, “Twofold Ascension” by Arthur Wierzchos;
c Contemporary, first place, “Loulu” by Lanaya Deily;

c Ka leo hone o ka palila: The sweet voices of the palila, first place, “Palila in the Jet Stream” by Dakota Hill; group, first place, “Palilas Love Mamane” by Waiakea Waena school.
“Exploring Palila and Their Forest Home,” a gallery tour with Jackson Bauer, is slated from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Biologist and bird photographer Jack Jeffrey leads a gallery tour from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. the same day.

The Wailoa Art and Cultural Center is free and open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and from noon to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
