Feinstein is known for his commitment to celebrating America’s popular song and preserving its legacy. He serves on the Library of Congress’ National Recording Preservation Board, an organization dedicated to ensuring the survival, conservation and increased availability of America’s recorded heritage. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, the White Hosue and Buckingham Palace.
“The Kahilu Theatre is a not-for-profit community arts and education center dedicated to serving our diverse Hawaii Island community and Michael Feinstein has dedicated his career to preserving the arts,” event chairwoman Jane Sibbett said. “He’s an elegant and fun fit.”
Tickets can be purchased online at kahilutheatre.org. Individual tickets are $150 for Kahilu members, $185 for nonmembers. Sponsored tables can be purchased for $3,000, $5,000 and $10,000. Dancing party tickets only are $50. Attire is “Gatsby Glam” – guests are invited to be creative with their costumes.
December events at the theater include Halau Waiau’s annual fundraiser, 2 p.m. Dec. 7; the Waimea Community Chorus annual holiday concert with the Kona Community Orchestra, 7 p.m. Dec. 14 and 3 p.m. Dec. 15; Amy Hanaialii and Band on Dec. 19; the Mana Christian Ohana Christmas Celebration on Dec. 22; and the Ohrlandos Chamber Ensemble at 11 a.m. in the foyer Dec. 29.
