Queen Akiu
Queen Leinaale Akiu, also known as “Aunty Ala,” 72, of Waiohinu died Oct. 24, 2013, at her residence. Born April 20, 1941, in, Waiohinu, she was member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint, Ka‘u Ward, and a retired custodian for Naalehu Elementary and Intermediate School, a silk screener at Alfred Shaheen Shirt Factory and a packer at the Dole Cannery on Oahu.
Friends may call at 5 p.m. Nov. 15 at the family residence at 95-5538 Mamalahoa Highway in Naalehu for an all-night vigil. Friends may call at 9 a.m. Nov. 16 at the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints, Ka‘u Ward in Naalehu for an 11 a.m. service. Burial is at Naalehu Community Cemetery. Family requests aloha attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.
She is survived by daughter, Yolan Jardine of Naalehu; sons, Augustine Akiu Jr., Sebastian Akiu and Kwai-Chang Akiu, all of Waiohinu; sister, Marylyn (Robert) Soto of Oceanside, Calif.; three grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Donald Martin
Donald K. Martin, 81, of Hilo died Nov. 4, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a former attorney.
A service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 15 at Homelani Memorial Park in Hilo. Family requests no flowers or monetary gifts.
He is survived by sisters-in-law, Ermine Martin of Honolulu, Etsuko Martin of Hilo; brother-in-law, Dyle Anderson of California; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rodman Miller
Dr. Rodman “Rod” B. Miller, 88, of Volcano died Oct. 16, 2013, in Hilo. Born in South Carolina, he was a retired family physician, founder of the Haleiwa Family Medical Center and a World War II Army veteran.
Private services were held. An urn committal will take place at 2 p.m. Nov. 15 at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hilo Medical Center Foundation, Hospice of Hilo or The Cooper Center.
He is survived by daughters, Antya (Boyd Ready) Miller, Lisa (Ralph) Simmerman; brother, Julian (Jeannie) Miller Jr.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Teopista Tulang
Teopista “Teo” Estillore Tulang, 90, of Papaikou died Nov. 4, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Pepeekeo,she was a retired licensed practical nurse with the former Hilo Hospital and member of Papaikou Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and Legion of Mary, Immaculate Heart of Mary Filipino Catholic Club, Papaikou Senior Citizens, Hilo Medical Center Nurses Retirees Club, Retired Senior Volunteers Program and United Public Workers Retirees.
Friends may call at 6 p.m. Nov. 15 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 7 p.m. wake service. Friends may also call at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 16 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for a 9:30 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at Homelani Memorial Park in Hilo. Family requests casual attire be worn.
She is survived by sons, Michael (Julie) Tulang and Gerald (Doreen) Tulang, both of Hilo, Dennis (Lorna) Tulang of Mililani, Oahu; daughter, Pamela (Norman) Lyman of Hilo; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Henry Alameda Sr.
Henry “Sonny” Alameda Sr., 84, of Ahualoa died Oct. 21, 2013, at home. Born Feb. 9, 1929, in Ahualoa, he was a retired road construction foreman for the Hawaii County Public Works Highway Maintenance Division, a hog farmer and worked for Andrade Service.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Nov. 16 at New Beginnings Assembly of God in Waimea at Holomua Center for a 10 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers and lei are welcome.
He is survived by wife, Dianna Alameda of Ahualoa; sons, Henry (Jodi Yoneda) Alameda Jr. of Kohala, Elton (Natja Medeiros) Alameda and Brock (Chaslen) Alameda, both of Honokaa; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Adolph Duldulao
Adolph “Duffy” “Nug” Duldulao, 70, of Honokaa died Oct. 6, 2013, at home. Born July 21, 1943, in Kukuihaele, he was an electrician for AMP Electric and former owner of Steve’s Electric Inc.
Friends may call at 11 a.m. Nov. 16 at Kukuihaele Park for a noon service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

Edward C. “Eddie Boy” Faisca, 59, of Hawi died Oct. 18, 2013, at Tripler Army Medical Center on Oahu. Born in Kohala, he was a member of the Hawi Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Glenwell Filoteo
Glenwell “Fish” Orlando Filoteo, 60, of Hilo died Oct. 21, 2013, at his home. Born Dec. 13, 1952, in Honolulu, he was a service driver for Big Island Honda and Hawaii Motors and coached for Hilo Boxing Club, Waiakea Boxing Club and Panaewa Allis.

Bencrosle Gasmen Camero, 42, of Hilo died Oct. 17, 2013, at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born Dec. 24, 1970, in Hilo, he was a draftsman for Power Engineers.
