Kona artist Kira Kamamalu has been invited to participate in the International Florence Biennale Invitational Contemporary Art Exhibition in Italy. She will be included in the 30 and under category during the exhibition, which takes place from Nov. 30 to Dec. 8.

Kamamalu will exhibit two original paintings of Hawaiian subject matter: one of a pa‘u princess and the second of a young girl in a lauhala hat.

Kamamalu is only the second artist from Hawaii to be invited to participate in the Florence Biennale, which has taken place every other year since 1997.
