Concepcion “Connie” Ventura Sensano, 88, of Pepeekeo died Oct. 13, 2013, in Hilo. Born Aug. 13, 1925, in Pahala, she was the former unit administrator for the Big Island Hawaii Heart Association and member of the Hilo Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Nov. 4 at the Hilo Seventh-Day Adventist Church for a 10 a.m. service. Burial is at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section.
She is survived by daughters, Charlotte (Conrad) Geronimo of Honolulu, Priscilla Escritor of Hilo; son, David Sensano of Honolulu; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Raymond Miller
Raymond Leialoha Miller, 55, of Hilo died Oct. 25, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a chief mate for HTB/YB and member of the IBU/ILWU of Hawaii.
Friends may call at 11 a.m. Nov. 7 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a noon celebration of his life. Family requests casual attire and no flowers.
He is survived by wife, Marla Miller of Hilo; sons, Gabriel (Connie) Miller, Kalson (Talia) Bondaug and Layson (Sierra) Bondaug, all of Hilo, Brandon (Zenaida) Bondaug of Waikoloa; hanai mother, Gerry Miller of Oregon; sisters, Kim Fox and Lureen (Joe) Calcara, both of California, Jessica Lebin and Kia Heikkila, both of Oregon; brothers, Joseph Sablan and Peter Nelson, both of Guam, Patrick Sablan of Texas; seven grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Mary Jane Pacheco
Mary Jane (Asau) Pacheco, 82, of Hilo died Oct. 18, 2013, at her granddaughter’s residence. Born June 24, 1931, in Hilo, she was a former employee of Palace Theater, housewife and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.
Friends may call at 6 p.m. Nov. 7 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 7 p.m. wake service. Friends also may call at 9 a.m. Nov. 8 at St. Joseph Catholic Church for a 10:30 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Family requests casual attire be worn.
She is survived by son, Albert Pacheco Sr. of Hilo; sister, Alice Kobayashi of Hilo; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Odette Rickert
Odette Cecile Rickert, 58, of Hilo died Oct. 25, 2013, at her residence. Born Nov. 16, 1955, in Los Angeles, she was an editor, life counselor and member of the Big Island Dance Council, Center Stage, Hula Halau O Kou Lima Nani E and Richardson’s Beach Club.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
She is survived by father, Charles Rickert of Gilroy, Calif.
Jacob Mangauil-D’amore
Jacob Mangauil-D’amore, 21, of Honolulu died Sept. 30, 2013. He was born in Hilo.

He is survived by mother, Trinity Mangauil of Kona; father, Stoney Mangauil of Hilo; grandparents, Stephen Mangauil, John D’amore and Sharon D’amore, all of Hilo; brother, Anthony Mangauil-D’amore of Hilo; sisters, Sharae Mangauil-D’amore and Shalyn Mangauil-D’amore, both of Hilo; numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

Hideo Ishigo
Hideo Ishigo, 100, of Honomu died Oct. 11, 2013, at a private care home in Hilo. Born in Honomu, he was the retired owner of the former Ishigo Store & Bakery in Honomu and member of Honomu Henjoji Mission (Honomu Odaishisan) and Fukuoka Kenjin Kai.
Private services were held. Family requests no flowers or monetary gifts.
He is survived by sons, Sam (Jeanette) Ishigo of Honomu, David (Winnie) Ishigo, Harold (Donna) Ishigo and Thomas (Ellen) Ishigo, all of Honolulu, Dennis (Sheila) Ishigo of Hilo; daughter, Jean (Wayne) Suzuki of San Jose, Calif.; brother, Susumu (Norma) Ishigo of Torrance, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Katsuyuki Tanabe
Katsuyuki “Ben, Ka-chan” Tanabe, 91, of Aiea, Oahu, and formerly from Captain Cook and Kealakekua died Oct. 21, 2013, in Honolulu. Born in Wailuku, Maui, he was a former president of the The Kona Club of Honolulu, former owner of Moana Builders, worked for Robert’s Hawaii and a World War II Army veteran.
Private services were held. Family requests no flowers.
He is survived by wife, Hang Yon Tanabe; sons, Glenn and Van Tanabe; daughters, Thelma Tanabe and Iris Hirose; brother, David Tanabe; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Leighton “Whit” Whittle, 78, of Waimea died Oct. 23, 2013, at home. Born Jan. 15, 1935, in Honolulu, he was a Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran.
