Koschella grew up in Southern California. Before purchasing a home in Hawaii in 2008, most of her paintings included lakes and rivers, now she has added seascapes to her repertoire. At the gallery, Koschella is displaying oil paintings, created using a palette knife, and crocheted Hawaiian lei she made to meet the need for lei that will not wilt.

Koschella retired in Kailua-Kona in 2008 and began focusing on painting in oils and watercolors. She’s been painting with the West Hawaii Plein Air Painters since 2009 and joined the Kona Arts Center in 2010. She is also a member of the Blue Sea Artisans Gallery.

Koschella and others will attend KVA’s annual All Member Artists Reception and Holiday Charity Tree Ornament Sale from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 29 at the gallery. The gallery is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily; for more information, call 329-6653.
