The Blue Sea Artisans Gallery features vintage jewelry designer Cathie Ann Amelotte this month. An artist’s reception is planned from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the gallery located on the north side of the makai building at the Kona International Market.

Born in Minnesota, Amelotte has lived in Hawaii for more than 40 years and is dedicated to the community she loves. Her unique creations are a reflection of her years spent in the tropical setting and the fashion business. Many of her pieces contain vintage components of advanced age as well as repurposed jewelry she has collected from various parts of the world.

Amelotte regularly donates items for nonprofit organizations, such as the Arc of Kona, Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation, Hospice of Kona and Hawaii Island United Way, to sell at silent auctions and fundraisers. Her 602 collection celebrates and honors people in recovery.

She will participate in the Arc of Kona Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 23. People seeking donations to their causes may email Amelotte at manamaiakua@hawaii.rr.com.

The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call the gallery at 329-8000.
